To commemorate the passing away of the Reverend Monk and Founder of the
Temple, RLAD assisted with the planning permission and designed a memorial in
keeping with the traditional Japanese shrine.
Working closely with the temple on the various components of the memorial stupa it was evident that each component had its own personality and element which required fine adjustments to the drawings to create a unique and bespoke “Figure”. RLAD designed details and connections for assembling the stupa. The Portland stone was hand carved on site with the stonemason taking up residency in the temple for the duration of the build.
